Jessica Stumph, DVM CVA, cAVCA

Jessica was born in Latrobe, PA, but she has called Kitty Hawk her home since she was 6 years old. Dr. Stumph graduated from Manteo High School before attending Averett University where she double majored in biology and equine studies, graduating with honors. She then attended North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine, where she again graduated with honors. Her dream was to one day own her own veterinary practice and now First Flight Veterinary Hospital is a reality. She spends her spare time looking after her own batch of critters including her horse, Raphael, and her two dogs, Mayzzy and Re-Pete. Dr. Jess is an avid equestrian and she spends many weekends away showing her Quarter Horse, Raphi.  She loves spending time with her husband David, collecting sea glass, rooting for her Pittsburgh Steelers, and tending to the farm which includes riding her tractor. In 2024, Dr. Jess was selected to sit on the Dare County Department of Health and Human Services  Advisory Board.

Kristine Rook, DVM

Kristine Rook grew up in Ohio and is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. (The shouting you hear on football Saturdays is her cheering on her Buckeyes.) She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1992.  After rethinking her childhood dream of being an Olympic swimmer (you have to get face wet?), she settled on veterinary medicine as a career in second grade, and she has never regretted that decision. She is passionate about making pets feel better by making their mouths healthy and pain-free through proper dental care. She is also fascinated by how dogs and cats learn and interact with people. In her free time, Dr. Rook loves spending time with her husband, Julius, and their 2 dogs: Freddie (Mercury) and Lena the wonder poodle. She is currently involved in the dog sports of agility, rally and obedience. She also has two wonderful human children. She also knits, reads and watches birds any chance she gets. She loves musicals and any movie with Cary Grant. So far she has a perfect record of keeping one New Year’s Resolution: not to run a marathon, or in fact run anywhere.

Jeanette Wilson, DVM

Jeanette was born and raised in Long Island, New York. She graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. As all K-Staters do, she bleeds purple! Go Wild Cats! Although she loves dogs & cats of all ages, senior pets have an extra special place in her heart. To provide the care these senior babies need, as well as pets in all life-stages, Jeanette has pursued training in Traditional Chinese Veterinary medicine (TCVM) and is a certified practitioner which means she is certified in acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Tui-na and food therapy. These gentle treatment modalities offer supportive options for patients with all types of diseases, including chronic disease.  Jeanette just recently moved from Hampton Roads to North Carolina with her husband & daughter. They plan on starting a farm, as well as adding four-legged babies to their family. Dr. Jeanette is VERY excited to be joining the First Flight Veterinary Team!
